Administrative Financial Analyst Intern (AFA – Intern)


This position is a growth opportunity with a rapidly growing real estate investment company that has provided affordable housing nationally since 1971.  The candidate will provide clerical, administrative and analytical support to the Construction Risk Asset Management Team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create capital contribution folders consistent with the partnership agreements for all equity contributions (7.2 (a) through final payment) for the Asset Management team.
  • Create capital contribution models for each new partnership.
  • Manage the CRM Department e-mail inbox by reviewing all correspondence and creating well organized and labeled construction documents including monthly payment applications, construction schedules, third-party inspection reports (SOR’s), change orders and development budgets.
  • Daily update WNC’s proprietary database (EPIQ) with project data reported documents.
  • Maintain and organize soft files for Construction Monitoring and Capital Contribution folders on the server for reference and archival purposes.
  • Initiate correspondence to third-party inspector(s), pursue monthly SOR’s for each project under development and update the database (EPIQ) and server soft files (Construction Monitoring).
  • Pursue monthly construction draws including: payment applications, construction schedules, change order, potential change order logs; and development budgets.
  • Assist in processing capital contribution binders with the CRM Financial Analysts’ oversight. Create funding binders and save documents as required for funding of equity contributions.
  • Create binders for Construction Asset Managers in preparation of hand-off meetings from underwriting to construction.
  • Input and update Certificate of Insurance information for all projects in proprietary database EPIQ after approval of CRM FA’s approval.

A qualified candidate would possess the following:

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and be proactive.
  • Enthusiastic and solution-oriented attitude.
    Provide feedback promptly to manager with any issues / concerns.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; critical thinking skills to track projects for accurate database input with thorough detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Interest in a corporate office environment with experience preferred, construction / real estate / communications experience and soon to be graduate or college degree preferred.

The candidate must work independently and communicate clearly with Asset Managers and other team members. In addition, the candidate must utilize team resources effectively and must be able to exercise good judgment.  Additional duties may include participation in a variety of ad hoc projects and reporting.
